About Susan

Susan Marie (McCullen) Rupp

Born on February 11, 1958, Susan was the beloved wife of Norman for 30 years; the proud and loving mother of her three boys Shawn, Ryan, and Scott; and the cherished grandmother of her two precious grandsons Dylan and Colin. Dear daughter of John and Ruth McCullen; adoring sister of Sheree (Mike) Pfeiffer and Michelle (Ernie) McClaskey; and sister-in-law of Karen (Pat) Schaller. Treasured aunt to Michael and Matthew Pfeiffer, Marc and Rachael McClaskey, and James (Janice) Keller.

Susan was a lifelong resident of Pine Hill, New Jersey, attending St. Edward’s Elementary School and graduating from Overbrook High School in 1976. In pursuit of higher education, she attended Scranton University, Camden County College, and Trenton State College. Susan was happily employed by the Pine Hill School District as a Kindergarten Instructional Aide at the Dr. Albert M. Bean Elementary School, and served as Treasurer of the Pine Hill Home & School Association.

Her passion for coaching the youth of her town blossomed into a 39-year involvement with the Pine Hill Youth Association, first as a scorekeeper then a team manager. A pillar in the community and affectionately known to all as “Coach Sue,” she has touched the lives of hundreds of girls and boys for almost four decades in the sports of softball, soccer, and baseball. Susan also held multiple leadership positions throughout the years with the PHYA organization, most recently as Vice President.

Sadly, Susan passed away after a courageous 8-year battle with recurring Ovarian Cancer at Hahnemann University Hospital in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on July 30, 2010 at the age of 52.
